A New System to help those with limited mobility enter and exit a car.
A simple, transportatable system to help both caregiver and user with limited mobility in and out of a car, or SUV.
The Movi™ helps the process of getting in and out of cars. It can also be used in other settings; in/out of bed, into a tub. Anywhere getting to the right height is needed, with a then simple transfer.
Movi is a two part system. The "Lift" and the "Bridge". The Lift adjusts to the height needed - (caregiver controlled). The Bridge is attached and rests on the car seat, or bed or bath.
How the system works
The Movi™ system begins as a "collapsed" unit for easy storage and moving. The system weighs about 15lbs and is 18inches square.
The legs are extended. Adjust the height to the general area of the height of the car seat. The system uses a remote handheld unit (battery powered) controlled by the care giver. If necessary use the fine adjustment tabs to level.
Attach the light Bridge (5lbs) to the Lift and on to the middle of the car seat.
The complete unit would look like this but with the Bridge, resting on the seat of the car.
Next (fully supporting) your "user" have them sit. You can adjust the height to help them do this.
Fully supporting the person - gently slide them in the car seat, across the Bridge. Once in the seat, have them reposition slightly and remove the Bridge.
With the patient in place (not shown) they get back on the MOVI and using the handle, while keeping hold of them, just slide them out.
